A photographer has captured the moment the Northern Lights dazzled in the sky during a helicopter rescue mission.
The striking video was taken by YouTube user Isle of Skye Nature and Scenery on December 3 on Skye.
During the video the Aurora Borealis can be seen, with hues of green and pink dancing across the sky.
In the far right corner of the video, a Stornoway Coastguard helicopter can be seen embarking on a rescue mission to help a camper in need of assistance.
Skye Mountain Rescue Team SCIO said that luckily the mission was a success and thanked the photographer for grabbing the time lapse.
The team wrote Facebook: “Last night, we had a camper in need of assistance on Trotternish Ridge and Stornoway Coastguard, a.k.a. R948, stepped in to help. Big thanks to them.
“Everything turned out well, and someone even captured this amazing time lapse of the chopper with the Northern Lights.”
