A pensioner has been found “safe and well” after he didn’t return home from a trail biking trip in the Highlands.
George McGowan, 77, was out in the area of Ben Bhraggie, Golspie, on Monday but did not return home when expected at 1pm on Monday.
However, police have since confirmed Mr McGowan was traced in the local area.
Chief inspector Jamie Wilson said: “We are grateful to all of the public volunteers who helped with our enquiries, as well as our partners from Assynt Mountain Rescue Team, HM Coastguard, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and SARDA (Search and Rescue Dog Association) for their assistance with searches overnight and into today.”
