A pair of boisterous otter pups were caught carrying on like a ‘couple of kids’ – as they wrestled with each other.

Andrew Fuller, 44, pictured the young pups while he was fishing in Loch Maddy, North Uist, Outer Hebrides, on Thursday.

The otter’s mum was trying to teach the cheeky pair how to fish – but amateur snapper Andrew said they were too busy play fighting to pay attention.

He said mum was casually eating a fish while the pups rolled around in the reeds.

Andrew, from North Uist, said: “I was fishing in a little boat when I saw a mum and two young pups swimming around.

“The mum was taking them around the bay, she looked like she was teaching them how to fish.

“But the young ones were like kids, they couldn’t sit still.

“They started wrestling with each other in the seaweed, so I grabbed my camera.

“It was quite unusual because normally they are just swimming around, or would be trying to hide, but these two were too distracted with each other to notice me.

“Mum was off to the side eating a fish but the two pups were just carrying on like a couple of kids.”
