Mountain rescue teams and the coastguard have been involved in the search for a vulnerable missing man whose car was found abandoned.
Roderick Augusto is believed to have travelled to Caithness on Christmas Day and his vehicle has since been found by police in the Dunnet Head area.
On Sunday, Assynt Mountain Rescue team said that they had been out the previous day assisting in an ongoing search for a vulnerable missing person with images taken by Dunnet Head lighthouse.
The team added: “Another excellent example of team working between Highland and Islands Police Division, HM Coastguard Scrabster and Wick and Duncansby Coastguard.
“Thanks also to RNLI Thurso Lifeboat Station and Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s Rescue 151 helicopter from Inverness who both assisted on previous days.”
The missing 43-year-old is described as white, of slim athletic build and is bald.
Anyone who recognises Roderick or has information on his whereabouts is urged to come forward.
Sergeant Jonny Wilkin from Thurso Police Office, said: “We are extremely concerned for Roderick’s wellbeing, especially as he has not been seen or heard from for over a week.
“We are appealing for anyone who recognises Roderick or has information regarding his whereabouts to please come forward.
“We would also urge Roderick to please get in touch with someone to confirm that he is ok.”
