Man taken to hospital after falling down manhole near Porterfield prison in Inverness SFRS

A member of staff from Inverness Prison has been taken to hospital after falling down a manhole.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called to the incident near Porterfield jail at around 9.30am on Wednesday morning.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Prison Service confirmed the man suffered minor injuries during the fall.

She said: “The individual received first aid at the scene before being taken to hospital as a precaution.”

The SFRS has been contacted for comment.
