A man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman in Shetland.
Police were called to the Sandness area on the west of the island’s mainland at around 4.55pm on Sunday, February 11 following reports of a disturbance at a property.
A 24-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested a 39-year-old man and he was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries.
On Wednesday, Police Scotland confirmed the man had been charged in connection with the death.
He is due to appear before Lerwick Sheriff Court on Thursday, February 15.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
