A man has been charged after a crash on Christmas Eve which left seven people, including two children, in hospital.

At around 5pm on December 24, a collision involving two cars occurred on the A82 at Invergloy in the Highlands.

Seven people were taken to Belford Hospital, where a woman was later transferred to Raigmore Hospital and two children, aged 15 and six, were transferred to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries.

Police in Fort William said that a man has now been charged with road traffic offences and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Witnesses are now being sought and anyone with information or dashcam footage is being urged to come forward.

Inspector Katy Duncan said: “Our enquiries into the crash are ongoing and we would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

“We are particularly keen to speak with the driver of a vehicle which was being overtaken at the time of the crash.”

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact police on 101 or via the Police Scotland website and quote incident 2260 of December 24.
