A man has been caught with around £300,000 worth of class A drugs during a police stop in the Highlands.

Officers halted the Seat Leon on Thursday afternoon near the A95 junction with Boat of Garten just outside the hamlet of Drumuillie.

A search of the vehicle found the powder, believed to be cocaine, inside before the man was arrested.

The 33-year-old has since been charged in connection with the seizure and appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Friday.

Detective Inspector Andy Ingram, said: “This was a significant seizure of Class A drugs.

“Police Scotland will continue to target and disrupt drug supply in all of our communities, even in the most remote areas.”
