A man has been arrested and charged after being “seen with a weapon” in Inverness.
Police were called to High Street, the city’s main retail area, at around 6.50pm on Wednesday following a report of a man carrying a weapon.
A 20-year-old was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
He is expected to appear at court at a later date.
It is confirmed no one was injured as a result of the incident.
A police spokesperson said: “Around 6.50pm on Wednesday, police were called to the High Street area of Inverness, following a report of a man seen with a weapon.
“A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the matter, and is expected to appear at court at a later date.
“There was no risk to the public.”
