“We have restored over 2,600 properties and 150 customers remain affected, including areas around Castle St and Bridge St and parts of Millburn Road,” an update from the energy company said.

“We will continue to restore power in stages throughout the course of today but due to the need for underground works some customers who are close to the fault area may be without power into late afternoon or early evening. We’re proactively contacting customers affected.

“We’re very sorry for the inconvenience caused as we work to restore power and would encourage any customer with concerns to contact us on the power cut helpline, 105 or send us a message.”
