A man has been charged with murder over the death of a 21-year-old who was found fatally injured in Orkney at the weekend.
Emergency services were called to a property in South Ronaldsay, at around 7.35am on Sunday after receiving reports that a man was badly hurt.
Medical staff attended the house on Marengo Road and the injured 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 49-year-old man has since been arrested over the death and on Tuesday he appeared at court in Inverness charged with murder.
Erland Fraser from South Ronaldsay made no plea as we was remanded in custody and is set to appear again in the next eight days.
Confirming the arrest on Monday a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 21-year-old man at a property on Marengo Road, Orkney around 7.35am on Sunday.”
