The A9 has been closed in both directions in the Highlands following a crash near a hotel.
Police Scotland said the major road at the junction with the B9168 at Dornoch was closed after a crash was reported to officers around 3.15pm on Friday.
The collision took place near the Trentham Hotel, Traffic Scotland said.
Emergency services are said to be on the scene with drivers urged to seek alternative routes.
A Police Scotland statement read: “The A9 is closed in both directions at it’s junction with the B9168 Dornoch following a crash which was reported to police around 3.15pm.
“Emergency services are in attendance and drivers are advised to avoid the area where possible.”
A Traffic Scotland post read: “Due to a road traffic collision the A9 is closed in both directions at the junction with the B9168 near to the Trentham Hotel.
“Road users are advised to approach with caution and use an alternative route.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
