A crime writer who lost a laptop containing a draft of her new book during severe weather in Shetland has been reunited with the device.
Ann Cleeves lost the gadget during a blizzard that struck the archipelago this week.
The 68-year-old, whose books have been adapted into television series Shetland, appealed for help in trying to track down the laptop.
On social media, she told followers that it may have fallen out of her bag as she made her way through Lerwick on Monday.
An award was offered by Cleeves for the return of the device, which had half of a new novel contained on it.
On Thursday evening, the author said that the laptop had been retrieved, though appeared to have been run over.
Fortunately, Clevees indicated that she had recently emailed herself an attachment which included what she had been working on.
Tweeting a photo, she wrote: “Here it is! Found in the snow not far from where I was staying by sharp-eyed Rachel as she got off the school bus.
It’s been run over so not much use, but glad to know it’s safe.”
