A man has died following a one-vehicle crash in Orkney on Friday morning.
The 37-year-old was driving a green Vauxhall Astra when the incident occurred on the A965 road at Deepdale near Stromness at around 8.10am.
Police were called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road remains closed for investigation to be carried out and police are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to get in contact.
Sergeant David Miller said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this time.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I would urge anyone who may have information to come forward.
“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the road around the time of the incident.
“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 0537 of March 4.”
