A kayaker missing for two days after being warned not to go out in stormy weather has been named.

Jason Chung Wai-Ho was urged by an off-duty police officer not to set off from Traigh Beach on Arisaig on Wednesday.

A Maritime and Coastguard Agency-led search was launched when he failed to return to his car that evening but it called off its search for the 39-year-old Glasgow resident on Thursday night.

Police Scotland-led searches are expected to continue over the weekend between Mallaig and Gortenachullish with the help of the Coastguard and RNLI .

They will be joined by police search dogs and specially-trained search teams.

Mr Chung Wai-Ho is 5ft 8in with short dark hair and a beard. He was wearing a black waterproof jacket, black waterproof trousers and a black lifejacket when last seen.
