Victoria Beckham has said she feels “humbled” after speaking to front-line NHS workers helping to respond to the Covid-19 epidemic.
The pop star turned fashion designer shared a video call she had with NHS workers in Scotland on her social media.
She praised their efforts in tackling the virus and asked about the working conditions they currently face.
She told the group of more than 10 NHS staff: “I hope you are feeling the love that the whole country is giving you.”
She added that watching videos of people around the country applauding healthcare workers from their homes made her “quite emotional”, saying: “It’s so wonderful what you are doing.
“Being away from your loved ones must be so difficult.
“I don’t even know what to say, I just feel really humbled to be talking to you and thank-you from the bottom of my heart.”
One of the staff told Beckham they are working 12-and-a-half-hour shifts, with face masks, gloves and aprons for protection.
Another added many NHS workers are staying away from their families in order to shield them from the virus.
Alongside the video, which Beckham said was recorded on Friday, she wrote: “They are so inspiring and we all need to do our part in staying home and helping these incredible workers and their colleagues on the front line.”
