Stevie Nicks sets new date for postponed Glasgow gig

The former Fleetwood Mac star is set to play her first solo concert in Scotland but had to reschedule after minor surgery.

Stevie Nicks has set a new date for her postponed Glasgow gig after the star underwent minor leg surgery last week.

The former Fleetwood Mac frontwoman was set to play the OVO Hydro on Saturday but had to cancel the performance, with organisers saying she needed a “few days of recovery”.

The show, now set to take place on Wednesday, July 24, will mark the 76-year-old’s first solo show in Scotland.

She previously played in Glasgow with Fleetwood Mac in 2015.

Her Manchester gig has also been postponed until July 16 while the singer is set to return to the stage on Friday at London’s Hyde Park.

Scots singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt is a special guest on the tour and will join other acts including Brandi Carlile and Anna Calvi on Friday in London.

Announcing that she would support “icon” Stevie Nicks, Nesbitt said on TikTok she had been trying to “manifest this thing since March” and it “seemed so unrealistic”.

Nicks joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975, before they went on to sell more than 120 million records.

In April 2019, Nicks became the first woman to be elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, once as a member of Fleetwood Mac and again as a solo artist.
