Sky Sports is planning to cancel football show Soccer AM after nearly 30 years on air.

The Saturday morning comedy show will run until the end of the season, with its final episode set for May 27.

The programme, hosted by former Premier League footballer Jimmy Bullard and John Fendley, first aired in 1995.

Sky stated they were adapting to the “evolving needs of our customers” and confirmed they were entering a period of consultation with staff members.

A spokesperson said: “Soccer AM has played an important role in our coverage of football for the past three decades, and we continually adapt to the evolving needs of our customers.

“We now go into a period of consultation to discuss the proposed changes with our people.

“We are unable to provide more detail while these consultations are underway.”
