Legendary film director Ron Howard is to participate in a Q&A session with fans as part of the Edinburgh Film Festival at Home.

The American filmmaker, who directed films such as Apollo 13 and The Da Vinci Code, will appear on the festival’s YouTube channel at 8.15pm on Wednesday.

Howard is showcasing his latest documentary, Rebuilding Paradise, to UK audiences for the first time at the Edinburgh event, which hosts the longest-continually running film festival in the world.

The programme chronicles the post-fire lives of the residents of Paradise, California, which was 95% razed to the ground by the so-called ‘Camp Fire’ of November 2018.

The Q&A will also feature Michelle John and Steve “Woody” Culleton, Paradise residents.

The Edinburgh Film Festival is taking place online this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Opening to audiences last week, the project will see future films released across 12 days.
