The organisers of retro music festival Rewind Scotland have cancelled this year’s event.
The news comes just weeks after they pledged to plough on with plans despite the impact of the coronavirus lockdown.
The 80’s nostalgia fest was due to take place at Scone Palace, Perthshire, from 17 -19 July
A spokesperson for the festival said: “We are saddened to announce that Rewind Scotland, Rewind North, and Rewind South will no longer take place this year.
“The health and safety of all Rewinders, the artists, staff and community will always be our top priority, and it became clear that rescheduling the festivals was unavoidable.
“We have spoken with all the artists involved and are so grateful to them and the venues, and we are excited to announce that we will be rescheduling the dates to next year.
“For now, Stay Safe, Stay Home and look after each other.”
Next year’s event will take place on July 23 – 25.
The reschedule comes after a number of high profile events have been cancelled later this year due to the uncertainity over how long the current lockdown will be in place.
Cancelled festivals include Radio One’s Big Weekend in Dundee in late May and and Glastonbury in June.
