Post Malone has helped a Scots singer pay for a house deposit after seeing him perform at a Glasgow bar.
Gregor Hunter Coleman, 30, was playing at Wunderbar when he was called over to meet the US singer following his gig at the Hydro.
The gobsmacked performer was praised by the star for his “amazing” performance and invited to sing with him at his afterparty at nearby nightclub Kong in what he described as a “life-changing” night.
Gregor told STV News: “I think I was playing Taylor Swift and Post Malone comes in and there was a mirror, and I could see him singing and dancing along and I was like, ‘this is mad’.
“The whole time I was singing, I was messing up lots and stuff and I’m like, ‘Post Malone’s here’.”
“After the set, one of the security guys called me over and said, ‘Listen he wants to speak to you, wants to say well done’ kind of thing.”
When he arrived at the booth, Malone told him his performance was “amazing” and asked how much he would charge to perform at his afterparty.
Gregor said he would happily play for free and politely declined the singer’s offer of a beer as he was “off the drink” to save up for a home.
The singer then insisted on giving him money to help him.
Gregor added: “I’d said ‘I’m waiting until I get a house and then I’ll stock the fridge with beer.
“He said ‘that’s cool, I respect that’ and offered to help me out with my deposit so I had more time to focus on music, which I thought was wild.
“I’d always heard stories that he was a really nice guy.”
Gregor shared photos from his night with Post Malone on Instagram with the caption: “I never thought whilst heading out the door with my guitar on Friday night for my gig at Wunderbar Glasgow that I’d meet Post Malone and have such a life changing experience.
“The hours spent with this gent chatting and jamming was life changing in itself, not to mention what followed. This could be my time to hit the ground running.”
Post Malone is on the road for his Twelve Carat Tour in support of his fourth studio album Twelve Carat Toothache.
