A teaser of Matt Hancock as he takes part in his second Bushtucker trial on survival reality television show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! has been revealed.
The former health secretary can be seen diving down into the water to earn stars for meals in Thursday night’s episode.
The MP for West Suffolk, who was seen on screen for the first time in the ITV show on Wednesday night, was voted to do Thursday’s Tentacles of Terror by the viewing public.
Hosts Declan Donnelly and Ant McPartlin watch as Hancock tackles the trial, with Donnelly commenting: “You’ve got to hold your breath for a long time…”
He later adds: “Good going this, down we go again, your air hole gets smaller…”, to which McPartlin quips: “What did you call him?” and Donnelly replies jokingly: “Air hole…”
After he entered the jungle on Wednesday along with fellow late arrival comedian Seann Walsh he had to feel his way through dark tunnels of mud and creepy crawlies in the Beastly Burrow challenge.
During his first night in the jungle, the 44-year-old was seen performing a rendition of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’, insisted that Rishi Sunak is “great” and was forced to admit people may be “angry” by his decision to join the series when questioned by campmates.
Following his decision to join the reality series, Hancock had the Tory whip suspended and came under fire from across the political divide for opting to sign up at a time when Parliament is sitting.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said he was “very disappointed” in his former Cabinet colleague.
Hancock, who represents West Suffolk, said he decided to enter the jungle to “go where the people are” rather than “sit in ivory towers in Westminster”.
