Chart-topping singer and flautist Lizzo is set to take the stage in Glasgow on Wednesday, kicking off the UK leg of her for her highly-anticipated global tour.
The three time Grammy award-winning musician will take the stage at the OVO Hydro on March 8, kicking off The Special Tour.
From there, she will move on to play shows in Birmingham, Manchester and London, before moving on to the tour’s European leg.
The star will be supported in Glasgow by English-Ghanaian singer Bree Runway, who was nominated for the Brits Rising Star award last year.
Lizzo’s most recent album, Special, peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart, becoming the highest-charting album by a female artist in 2022.
She is also gearing up to headline night two of Glastonbury 2023 in June, alongside the original line-up of Guns N’ Roses.
The star shot to fame with the success of her third studio album Cuz I Love You in 2019, which peaked at number four on the US Billboard 200.
The deluxe version of the album included Lizzo’s 2017 single Truth Hurts, which became a viral sleeper hit two years after its initial release and topped the US Billboard Hot 100.
Around the same time, her 2016 single Good as Hell also climbed the charts, reaching the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Chart.
The hitmaker received eight nominations at the 2020 Grammy Awards, the most for any artist that year, and eventually won for Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best Pop Solo Performance for Truth Hurts, and Best Traditional R&B Performance for the song Jerome.
