Jon Richardson to headline Aberdeen comedy festival

TV panel show favourite Jon Richardson is to headline Aberdeen International Comedy Festival.

The star of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown will bring the festival to a close on Saturday, October 10 at the city’s Music Hall.

Richardson is the host of Dave’s Ultimate Worrier and the star of upcoming sitcom Meet the Richardsons.

His other appearances include Would I Lie To You (BBC One), Have I Got News For You (BBC One), Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC One), and Taskmaster (Dave).

Adrian Watson, chief executive of festival organisers Aberdeen Inspired, said: “Attracting a name like Jon Richardson is a huge coup for us and we can’t wait to welcome him to the Granite City for the Aberdeen International Comedy Festival.

“Aberdeen Inspired is pleased to continue building on the growth of the festival, which goes from strength to strength each year.”

Richardson joins already announced acts Gary Meikle and Tez Ilyas for the Aberdeen festival, with more acts to be announced throughout the year.

Tickets for Jon Richardson: The Knitwit are priced at £25.50 and go on sale at 9.30am on Friday.
