I choo-choo choose you: Man proposes inside Glasgow Central Station Inside Central Station
Proposal: James Fennah asked girlfriend Hannah Farlie to marry him in Glasgow's Central Station.

A man asked his girlfriend to marry him via a special information board in a Glasgow train station.

James Fennah proposed to partner Hannah Farlie after the pair arrived at Central Station following a trip to Manchester.

He directed her to look at an information board, which had been altered to read “Hannah Jane Fairlie, will you marry me?”

James then got down on one knee with a ring as a shocked Hannah shook her head in disbelief.

The touching moment was captured on camera as part of BBC documentary Inside Central Station.

The series follows interesting characters who work and travel through one of Britain’s busiest train stations.

James had contacted producers STV Studios to arrange the surprise proposal, who also allowed members of Hannah’s family to watch the special moment unfold from a secret room within the station.

Shocked Hannah kept James waiting for an answer before saying yes, with James adding: “You left me down on one knee for a while!”

Rosy Marshall-McCrae, executive producer of Inside Central Station, said: “As we see with each series, the Central Station foyer has been the scene of countless heartwarming moments over the years, but James’ proposal has to be up there as one of the sweetest.

“When he told us what he was planning to do, we knew that it would make for an extremely special TV moment.

“I’m delighted that Inside Central Station viewers will get to join in the celebrations on Sunday night, and we wish James and Hannah every happiness in their married lives together!”

The special moment will be aired on Sunday evening at 9pm on the BBC Scotland channel.

Inside Central Station airs on BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer on Sundays at 9pm and is produced by STV Studios for BBC Scotland.
