Home Alone star Devin Ratray is reportedly being investigated over a rape allegation by US authorities.
The actor – who played Buzz McCallister in the hit family film – has been accused of rape by a former friend, according to CNN.
Ratray currently also stands accused of a domestic violence charge for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at an Oklahoma fan convention in December last year.
His arrest over the alleged incident prompted Lisa Smith to contact prosecutors in the US about a case she had filed in 2017 – accusing Ratray of raping her in New York City.
“Seeing that he was accused of assaulting someone else made me realize that I needed to do whatever I could to prevent him from hurting even more women,” she told CNN.
She was told the initial case had been closed as the police understood she had wanted to remain anonymous – authorities have since reinstated the report
Smith claims that she had been friends with the actor for about 15 years before the alleged incident took place.
She told CNN that on the night of September 21, 2017, she went back to Ratray’s apartment with her brother and another friend.
Ratray allegedly poured drinks and seemed “intent” that she drink from a specific glass – which she believes had been spiked.
“I remember waking up and I couldn’t move. I couldn’t really open my eyes, but I could hear what was happening and I could feel what was happening. I knew that the other two people were gone and I was still on the couch,” Smith said.
After encouraging her to stay the night and sleep on his couch, he sexually assaulted her for what felt like “an eternity”, according to Smith’s allegations.
According to Smith, Ratray denied the rape in a text message exchange the following day and claimed he was unable to have sex because he is impotent.
Speaking to CNN, the 45-year-old actor said he recalled the evening with Smith nearly five years ago, but denied her rape allegation.
He has not been charged in connection with the allegations.
