Movie buffs were treated to brand new trailers for blockbusters The Flash and Indiana Jones during Sunday night’s Super Bowl – both featuring Glasgow.
Several streets were transformed into the United States for filming of Indiana Jones in 2021, followed by Gotham City for the eagerly anticipated DC flick.
The trailer for Indiana Jones features Harrison Ford, reprising his role as the eponymous character, riding a horse down St Vincent Street in Glasgow city centre.
Viewers got a closer look at flashbacks of a young Ford, and Jones’ relationship with his goddaughter Helena, played by Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Antonio Banderas, Shaunette Renée Wilson and Toby Jones are also new additions to the cast, with John Rhys-Davies reprising his role of Sallah from 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
The fifth in the Indiana Jones series, The Dial of Destiny will release on June 30.
It is expected to be the final Indiana Jones film, with the first, Raiders of the Lost Ark, having been released in 1981.
Meanwhile, the new trailer for The Flash features multiple shots instantly recognisable as Glasgow – with one dramatic clip showing Batman racing through George Square on a motorbike.
Another shot follows a chase through Glasgow city centre’s streets, as an American-style police car flies through the air.
Superhero The Flash, played by Ezra Miller, teams up with two Batmans in the Super Bowl trailer, played by Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton – both of whom have starred as Batman previously.
It also sees the return of Michael Shannon, who reprises his role as the villainous General Zod from DC’s Man Of Steel franchise.
The film, which will release on June 16, is expected to play a major role in the reboot of the DC Universe.
