Frank Skinner has cancelled his sold out show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe due to a “family health issue”.

The comedian was set to bring his stand up show, titled 30 Years Of Dirt, to the famous festival from Thursday 4 to August 24.

A spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday that the comic’s much anticipated new show has now been called off.

They said: “Due to a family health issue, Frank Skinner is unable to travel for the foreseeable future, therefore his sold-out 30 Years of Dirt stand-up show at the Assembly Rooms this August has regrettably been cancelled.

“All ticket holders will receive a full refund.”

Skinner’s stand up career started at the Edinburgh festival in 1987.

He returned to the city four years later and took home the prestigious Perrier Award for best show.
