Craig David tells STV News bagpipes could feature in his next hit song.

The R&B superstar said the iconic Scottish instrument could be an international sensation.

He spoke exclusively to STV News alongside singer and former Love Island Star, Wes Nelson,  after the duo performed a surprise Rockstar Energy gig at the dodgems.

Craig told STV News: “The Scots bring something different to a show. I always wished to do something at a funfair. Just because it brings back childhood memories that are really good childhood memories.”

The 7 Days and Walking Away artist said bagpipes could be a good sample for his next hit.

He said: “You could have the sound of the bagpipes playing. That could be high energy. Trust me though, if we nail it, we’ll say we did that interview and next thing you know, it’s a banger, it’s just the one. It’s hitting internationally.”

He also thanked the nation for a specifically Scottish delicacy – a deep-fried mars bar.

“The deep-fried Mars bars came all the way down to my college days”, he said.  “Those were good days. They were sweet. Thank you!”

David will return to Scotland in February 2025 when he comes back for an arena gig at the Armadillo.

“I can’t wait,” he said. “I’m very blessed to come back up here and if today sets the tone, it’s going to be good.”
