Scots trio Chvrches will headline Playground Festival this summer.
The synth-pop outfit will top the bill alongside pop pioneer Neneh Cherry on the Saturday night of the East Renfrewshire weekend festival.
The performance will be Chvrches’ homecoming show following a US tour.
Underworld will headline on the Friday night. The Flaming Lips will close out the music festival on the Sunday.
Other acts on the bill include a DJ set by Leftfield, Nightmares on Wax, The Wailers, Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5, Craig Charles, and Luna The Professor.
Brian Traynor, festival founder and organiser, said: “We have worked hard to bring together a world-class line-up of musicians for Playground Festival 2020, and we are delighted to announce Chvrches and Neneh Cherry as our Saturday headliners.”
The festival will boast a 45% female line-up – months after singer KT Tunstall hit out at TRNSMT for its lack of women headliners.
Last year, the inaugural Playground Festival attracted more than 14,000 revellers who enjoyed performances from the likes of Groove Armada, Hot Chip, Django Django and Anna Calvi.
This year also promises to be a family-friendly affair with face-painting, soft play, dancing and games for little ones.
Those under the age of seven will get in free.
As well as a ‘carefully curated food forest’, there will also be aerial acrobatic performers, a craft beer area and a gin garden.
Playground Festival will take place between Friday, July 31 and Sunday, August 2 at Rouken Glen Park in Giffnock.
