Actor Ewen MacIntosh, best known for his role as Keith in The Office, has died aged 50.
JustRight Management confirmed his “peaceful passing” in a statement shared on Wednesday morning.
They said: “With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved comedy genius Ewen MacIntosh.
“His family thank all who supported him, especially Willow Green Care Home.”
BBCThe Office creator Ricky Gervais shared a tribute, writing: “Extremely sad news. The very funny and very lovely Ewen Macintosh, known to many as ‘Big Keith’ from The Office, has passed away.
“An absolute original. RIP.”
The comedian played oddball Keith Bishop in the classic sitcom, and was at the centre of iconic moments throughout the series, including a very awkward appraisal and dressing as Ali G.
The Office podcast Out Of Office said that MacIntosh would “always be remembered as a key part of the greatest British sitcom of all time. An excellent legacy to leave. RIP.”
