Woman punched train inspector in row over ticket

The passenger hit the female inspector as the service pulled into Edinburgh Waverley.

Transport police are on the hunt for a woman after a train inspector was punched in a row over a ticket.

The passenger hit the female inspector three times on the arm as the service arrived into Edinburgh Waverley at around 8pm on Friday, February 28.

The suspect – who was travelling on the 7pm service from Glasgow Central to York – was wearing a pink and cream net skirt, a pink fluffy jacket, high heel shoes, and was carrying an over the shoulder purse and a small trolley suitcase.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesperson said: “Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault.”
