A woman has been left injured and shaken after being struck by a shopping trolley thrown from the upper level of a car park in Edinburgh.
Shoppers rushed to the aid of the 30-year-old following the incident at Ocean Terminal in Leith after the cart was dropped from the multi-storey by a group of youngsters shortly after 5.30pm on Saturday, June 25.
The victim escaped with only minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment but was left extremely upset.
Police have now launched a probe into the attack and have asked for anyone in the area at the time to come forward and share their information with officers.
Investigators have also asked for passing motorists with dashboard-mounted cameras to check their footage from around the time.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The trolley struck the 30-year-old woman causing minor injury.
“She did not require hospital treatment but was left extremely shaken by the incident.
“Several members of the public came to the aid of the victim and we are asking for them, any other witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to make contact with police on 101 quoting incident number 3433 of Sunday, June 26.
“Alternatively, anyone with any information can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
