Detectives have launched an investigation after a man was seriously assaulted in Fife.
The 31-year-old was attacked inside a flat and on the street outside on Church Place, Crossgate, at around 10.50pm on Friday night.
He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the Victoria Hospital for treatment.
The suspects, who were seen in the area in a silver car and a dark-coloured car, have been described as wearing dark clothing.
Officers are currently carrying out enquiries in the area and have appealed for anyone with any information to come forward.
Detective sergeant Tommy Stenhouse, of CID in Dunfermline said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in the areas of Church Place or Brands Row at the relevant time and witnessed the incident to get in touch with us.
“The suspects were described as wearing dark clothes and were seen in the area in a silver car and a dark coloured car.
“We would also like to hear from any with private CCTV or dashcam footage, you may have captured the incident and we need to hear from you.
“Anyone who has information that will assist this investigation to contact us through 101 quoting reference number 3878 of 21 January, 2022. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
