A van driver has died in a one-vehicle crash in Edinburgh.
The 63-year-old man crashed his Mercedes van on Willowbrae Road, around 5.40pm on Tuesday.
Emergency services attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for around four hours as police carried out an investigation.
His next of kin have been made aware and report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A statement said: “Police Scotland was made aware of a road crash involving a Mercedes van at Willowbrae Road in Edinburgh around 5.40pm on Tuesday.
“The 63-year-old male driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
“His next of kin are aware. No other vehicles were involved in the incident and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
“The road was closed for around four hours to allow for an investigation to take place at the scene.”
