Two people have been taken to hospital and a man has been charged following an attack outside a football stadium in Falkirk.
Officers were alerted to the incident on Tuesday which happened around 5.20pm at Stadium Way, near Falkirk FC’s football stadium.
A 52-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by ambulance with serious injuries, and a 63-year-old woman was also taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
Police confirmed that a 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with serious assault.
The man is scheduled to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.20pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 officers were called to reports of a serious assault at Stadium Way, Falkirk.
“Emergency services attended and a 52-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by ambulance with serious injuries. A 63-year-old woman was also taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
“A 39-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with serious assault. He is due to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.”
