Police are hunting two men after an attack on a 33-year-old man in Bathgate.
The incident took place at around 6pm at Meadowpark public park on Saturday, September 3.
The 33-year-old was in the park when he was approached by the two men who threatened and then seriously assaulted him.
He was taken by ambulance to St John’s Hospital where he is being treated for lacerations.
Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.
Police are now searching for the two men who carried out the attack.
The first suspect is described as being white, aged between 20 and 30, around 5ft 7in, of large build with a beard. He was wearing a blue hooded top.
The second suspect is described as being white, aged between 20 and 30, around 5ft 5in, of slim build. He was wearing a grey hooded top and grey jogging trousers.
Detective Constable David McDougall said: “Our enquiries are continuing to trace the two men who are responsible for this attack.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed this incident take place, or who has any information that may assist our investigation to contact officers through 101 with reference 2928 of September 3.
“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
