Two due in court over alleged murder bid which left man in hospital

A 43-year-old man was found with serious injuries after police responded to reports of an assault on Sunday.

A man and woman have been charged after an alleged murder bid in West Lothian on Sunday.

A 43-year-old man was found with serious injuries after police responded to reports of an assault on Clement Rise in Livingston on Sunday, July 7.

The seriously injured man was taken to St John’s Hospital but was later transferred to Edinburgh’s Royal Infirmary to receive medical treatment, where he remains.

Police confirmed on Thursday morning that a 48-year-old man and 44-year-old woman had been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder.

Both are due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Thursday, July 11.

A 48-year-old man was also arrested and released pending further enquiries.

Detective inspector Lee Beaumont said: “We would like to thank the public for their assistance with our enquiries into this particularly violent attack.”
