FacebookA mountain rescue team was called out to two separate incidents in the Scottish Borders within six hours.
Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue confirmed they had sent crews to two separate incidents within hours of each other on July 3.
A crew of 12 TVMRT members were first called to assist an injured hillwalker on the hill above Ettrick Kirk around 1.15pm.
Alongside paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service, the casualty was evacuated from the area on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance.
FacebookAround 7.12pm on the same day, the team was called out again to help a solo cyclist who had become lost in the hills between Eddleston and Romano Bridge.
The rescue team said the cyclist had a mobile phone and found shelter in a near by hut so they were able to locate them using the PhoneFind tool.
A total of 19 team members were dispatched and safely evacuated the cyclist alongside officers from Police the Lothians and the Borders, assisted by a local farmer.
The two incidents brings the team’s total number of call outs to 38 this year, making it their “busiest” first of the year ever.
