The Queensferry Crossing was blocked for hours after a tractor fell off a lorry.
Diversions were put in place on the M90 bridge on Thursday morning as recovery crews attempted to clear the obstruction.
The incident is understood to have occurred shortly before 10.30am, and traffic was delayed by up to an hour at its highest.
Traffic Scotland confirmed the road had been cleared by 4.16pm on Thursday, nearly six hours later.
A statement by Police Scotland on Thursday morning read: “[Fife Road Policing] are currently dealing with a tractor that has fallen from an HGV on the southbound carriagway [sic] of the Queensferry Crossing.
“One lane is currently operating due to the obstruction and southbound traffic is heavy on approach. Please allow extra time for travel.”
