Three teenage boys have been charged after a fire at a former nightclub in Fife.

Fire crews raced to what used to be Kitty’s nightclub on Hunter Street in Kirkcaldy on Sunday afternoon at around 3pm.

Six appliances and two height trucks were on the scene during the worst of the fire on Sunday – the third at the same location this year.

Hours after firefighters were called to the building for a fourth time on Wednesday, police confirmed three 15-year-old boys had been arrested and charged in connection with wilful fire-raising at a derelict building in Kirkcaldy.

Nobody was injured as a result of the blaze.

The three youths will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Gordon Stanford said: “We know this incident has had a significant impact in Kirkcaldy and we would like to offer our thanks to the local community and partners in the emergency services for their assistance in this investigation.”
