Three people were rushed to hospital after a crash between a car and a lorry on the Edinburgh City Bypass.
Police were called to the scene following reports of the crash on the A720 near to Baberton on Thursday around 9pm.
The three occupants of the car was taken to hospital.
Police confirmed a man was later charge din connection to the incident.
The road was closed for several hours with police directing traffic at the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.05pm on Thursday, February 24, police were called to a report of a road crash involving a car and a lorry on the A720 Edinburgh city bypass near Baberton.
“Officers attended and the three occupants of the car were taken to hospital to be checked over.
“The vehicles were recovered and one man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
