A man was attacked with a weapon by a group of teens on electric bikes and a scooter who stole his belongings on a path in Edinburgh.
At around 5.30pm on Tuesday, January 24, the victim suffered injuries after three teenage boys struck him on the head and took his rucksack and laptop as he made his way along the cycle route between Seafield Street and Pirniefield.
One suspect is described as a male around 14 years old and spoke with a Scottish accent. He had a slim build and was wearing a snood while dressed in black and riding a black scooter.
The second, with the weapon, was around 16 to 17 years old and of a stocky build.
He was around 5ft 9in tall, also spoke with a Scottish accent, and was riding a bike
At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark hoodie with the hood tied tight, a red snood, black jogging bottoms and black trainers.
The third was around 14 to 15 years old and was wearing dark clothing and silver trainers. He was also riding an electric bicycle.
Detective Sergeant Keith Taylor of the violence reduction unit, said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace the people responsible and we encourage anyone with information about this attack to contact police.
“Think back, did you see these three youths in the area around this time?
“We are also appealing for anyone who may have relevant dash-cam footage from the Seafield Road area around 5.30pm on Tuesday to get in touch.
“Please contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 3094 of Tuesday, January 24, 2023.”
