A teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged rape of a woman in Edinburgh.
The alleged attack happened in the Leith Street area of the town on Friday, October 6.
A 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the incident.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 16-year-old male youth has been arrested and charged in connection with the serious sexual assault of a female in Leith Street in Edinburgh around 8pm on Friday, October 6.
“He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, October 9. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
