A teenage girl has died in hospital after getting into difficulty in the River Teith in Stirlingshire.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Carse of Lecropt Road, Bridge of Allan, on Tuesday at around 5.50pm.
The 14-year-old was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Glasgow by air ambulance, where she was pronounced dead on Saturday.
Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the girl’s death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.50pm on Tuesday, July 12, police were called to a report of a 14-year-old girl in difficulty in the River Teith near to Carse of Lecropt Road, Bridge of Allan.
“Emergency services attended and the girl was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Glasgow, where she died on Saturday, July 16.
“Officers are providing support to her family and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
