Six children have been taken to hospital after a crash in Midlothian.
They were taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh after the minibus they were travelling in was involved in a collision with a car.
A 56-year-old man has been charged with road traffic offences over the incident that took place in the Lady Brae area of Gorebridge at around 9am on Tuesday.
Emergency services attended the scene and the children were all taken to the hospital to be checked over by medical staff.
Police confirmed the incident and said the road was closed while the vehicles were recovered.
A spokesperson for the force said: “At around 9am on Tuesday police were called to a report of a crash involving a car and a minibus in Lady Brae, Gorebridge.
“Emergency services attended and six children, who were travelling in the minibus, have been taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh to be checked over as a precaution.
“The road was closed while the vehicles were recovered.
“A 56-year-old man has been charged with road traffic offences.”
