Friends launch appeal to find Scot missing in Las Vegas

Friends of a Scottish man missing in Las Vegas have launched an urgent effort to locate him six days after he was last seen.

Lewis Fraser was on a solo trip to the popular US city but his phone has been switched off since his last known contact at around 3.30am on Saturday, July 22.

The 27-year-old, from Denny in Falkirk, was staying at the Luxor Hotel and Casino and was due to fly home on Sunday.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) confirmed they had received a missing person report, but told STV News he was “not considered endangered”.

Temperatures in Las Vegas are expected to hit as much as 45C this weekend, according to local weather forecasts.

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said they were in contact with Mr Fraser’s family.

“We are supporting the family of a British man who has been reported missing in the United States,” a statement said.
