A 14-year-old boy abducted a 20-year-old woman at knifepoint, forced her to strip and raped her.
The sex attack took place on wasteland in Methil, Fife, last January after the schoolboy, now aged 15, grabbed his victim as she walked to the shops.
He grabbed the woman from behind, held a knife to her neck and threatened to kill her if she didn’t do as he said.
The High Court in Glasgow heard he then took her to the secluded area and ordered her to remove all her clothes before carrying out the rape.
The teenager admitted the charges on Thursday and will be sentenced next month. He is currently being held at secure accommodation.
The schoolboy was snared after police carried out door-to-door inquiries and showed photographs of the knife.
It was recognised by a relative of the teen who said it had gone missing months ago. This led detectives to the accused.
When the victim was shown photographs, including that of the teenager, the woman became visibly upset and identified him as the rapist.
His DNA was also recovered from the knife and from her body.
Judge Lady Stacey placed the schoolboy on the sex offenders’ register and called for a risk assessment of the danger he poses to the public.
