A man has been jailed for five years for raping a 24-year-old woman within hours of meeting her.
Martin Ogg, 54, met the victim – who he didn’t know – outside a shop and invited her back to his home for a drink.
There, after his sexual advances were rebuffed, he raped her.
At the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, Judge Lord Mulholland told Ogg, who was on a video link from prison: “You were convicted of raping a woman in your home.
“She has hearing difficulties. She was intoxicated. She refused your advances and you ignored this.
“What you did was rape and you are about to pay the price for what you did.”
The incident happened in Dunfermline, Fife, between June 8 and 9, 2017.
Defence counsel Victoria Dow said: “He continues to maintain his innocence.
“Although she has hearing difficulties the complainer lives an independent life.”
Lord Mulholland placed Ogg on the Sex Offenders’ Register.
