Police uncover cannabis farm after blaze breaks out at flat

Emergency services were called to the flat in Dunfermline on Sunday where the cannabis was later found.

A cannabis farm has been discovered after emergency services were called to the scene of a fire in Fife.

Police confirmed the discovery of the cultivation on Sunday following a blaze at a property on Queen Anne Street in Dunfermline.

Crews from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the flames around 2pm after four engines were called around 12.50pm.

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze however police say investigations at the scene were continuing.

The discovery of the drugs has now been confirmed after forensic officers were seen entering the property.

A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “An investigation is under way following the discovery of a cannabis cultivation site in Queen Anne Street, Dunfermline.

“Police were notified around 1.05pm on Sunday, December 18 when a fire broke out at the property. The fire was dealt with by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. Police remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”
